Radio Program in South Africa on Small Christian Communities

While in South Africa for the World Cup of Football (Soccer) in June I was interviewed on the one-hour radio program “The Melting Pot” on Radio Veritas, a Catholic Radio Station in Edenvale near Johannesburg. We talked about the importance of Small Christian Communities (SCCs) in Africa including the LUMKO Institute in South Africa, the RENEW Program in South Africa and the university courses on SCCs in Nairobi, Kenya. We mentioned the book Small Christian Communities Today: Capturing the New Moment (Orbis Books, 2005 and Paulines Publications Africa, 2006) with the “Foreword” by Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor, the retired Archbishop of Westminister, England. We discussed our Small Christian Communities Global Collaborative Website at: www.smallchristiancommunities.org.The interviewer encouraged listeners to go on our website and vote in the POLL: “The best part of my Small Christian Community is…” This POLL is a wonderful way to learn what people on the grassroots feel about their SCCs.

The program will be rebroadcast on Radio Veritas at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, 6 July, 2010 (South African time) on the DSTV audio channel 170 and audio streamed worldwide on the internet at the following website: www.radioveritas.co.za. Welcome.
